ROCK IN RIO 2008, MADRID, June 27 to 28 and July 4, 5 and 6
After five successful editions, the Rock in Rio festival will arrive in Madrid in June 2008. On June 27th and 28th and on July 4th, 5th and 6th, Arganda del Rey will become one of the headquarters of the festival, which for the first time in its history will be held simultaneously in two cities, since Lisbon will also welcome Rock in Rio in 2008.
An event that supports different social causes through its 'For a Better World' project, this 2008 edition will focus on global warming, with Alejandro Sanz as ambassador.
For five days in Arganda del Rey, the area known as Ciudad del Rock (Rock City), counting over 200,000 square meters, will welcome hundreds of thousands of spectators to the different sections: World Stage, where around twenty outstanding international and Spanish groups will participate; Escenario España (Spanish Stage), for established Spanish groups and new talents; Carpa Electrónica (Electronic Tent); Espacio Fashion (Fashion Space), dedicated to runway shows and exhibitions; Zona Radical (Radical Zone), featuring an ice-skating rink; and Espacio Niños (Children's Corner), where parents can leave their children with qualified child-care personnel. Everything is designed for total enjoyment of the greatest musical show of 2008.
