The TANDEM, Escuela Internacional Summer Junior Program in Madrid, is a program oriented to youths between the ages of 14 to 17, who are learning Spanish and wish to have an enriching experience during 2, 3, or 4 weeks in Madrid, Spain.

THE PROGRAM
Every day the program will consist of 4 blocks of 45 minutes of Spanish class in our centre. The classes will be made up of students of similar ages coming from diverse countries.
Housing will be in our university residence, which is located 15 minutes from our school, by metro or bus. The students will be placed in single air-conditioned rooms, with access to a study room, pool, and sports fields. Weekly laundry service, breakfast and lunch are included.
Activities
The activities will begin after lunch: one in the afternoon and one in the evening. The visits will be to the most emblematic sights in Madrid, the Plaza Mayor, the Puerta del Sol, Retiro Park and the Austrias neighborhood.
Madrid sports arenas and stadiums, and the students will be able to attend concerts and outdoor movies. We also would like to offer sports activities such as skating, swimming, hiking in the Madrid Sierra, a visit to the Real Madrid stadium, football games, etc.
Every Saturday there will be an excursion to places near Madrid such as Segovia, famous for its Roman aqueduct, or Avila, known for being a walled city or El Escorial, with its impressive monastery constructed by Felipe II.
Students can also take part in optional weekend activities with other students from the school: a weekend in the countryside or a multi-adventure weekend.
TANDEM Partner
Every day there will be an activity and the opportunity to meet many people and make new friends. In addition to the activities, TANDEM offers each student a TANDEM conversation partner. Students will be matched up with someone of their age and who speaks their language in order to have a conversation exchange.
